3.6L Pentastar® V6

Built to perform when the terrain gets tough, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine delivers steady power and confident capability wherever the journey leads. It features 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, giving it the muscle to handle highways and rugged trails alike. You can opt for the standard six-speed manual transmission for a more hands-on experience or select the available eight-speed automatic transmission for smooth, effortless shifting.

2.0L Turbo I4

The Wrangler also offers a 2.0L turbocharged I4 engine that packs a punch, delivering 270 horsepower and an impressive 295 pound-feet of torque. The eight-speed automatic transmission comes standard with this engine, providing smooth gear changes and responsive performance. The result is a powertrain that feels quick off the line while maintaining balanced efficiency for daily travel or off-road escapes.

6.4L SRT® HEMI® V8

The 6.4L SRT HEMI V8 engine takes the Wrangler Moab 392 to an entirely new level of performance. With 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, this engine delivers fierce power and commanding presence, making even the toughest trails feel conquerable. Additionally, with a 0-to-60 MPH acceleration time of as little as 4.5 seconds, this high-performance beast is ideal when you want both speed and off-road dominance.

2026 Jeep Wrangler Drivetrain Options

Every 2026 Jeep Wrangler comes with outstanding capability, featuring three available 4x4 systems, making it ready to tackle both city streets and rugged trails. Additionally, the heavy-duty full-float rear axle is built to withstand tough trail conditions by distributing the vehicle’s weight through a spindle connected to the wheel hub, ensuring strong, dependable performance.

Available Wrangler 4x4 systems include:

Command-Trac® part-time 4x4 — Most trims include the Command-Trac part-time 4x4 system with a 2.72:1 low-range gear, delivering dependable control on rocky inclines and steep paths.

Selec-Trac® full-time 4x4 — For a smoother, more adaptable ride, the available Selec-Trac® full-time 4x4 system shifts automatically between two-wheel and four-wheel drive depending on the terrain and road conditions. The Wrangler Moab 392 features this system with a 4.56 rear axle ratio, combining powerful traction with confidence-inspiring off-road performance.

Rock-Trac® heavy-duty part-time/full-time 4x4 — The Wrangler Rubicon and Rubicon X raise the bar with the Rock-Trac® heavy-duty part-time 4x4 system and its 4:1 gear ratio, engineered for the toughest trails. An optional full-time Rock-Trac system pushes capability even further, offering a 100:1 crawl ratio.
